How much has Lawrence County CUD 20 overspent over the past 10 years?

Lawrence County Community Unit School District 20 accumulated $15.14 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Lawrence County CUD 20 reported 0.5 percent less revenue. At the same time, total spending went up 9.1 percent.
