Herrick Fire Department responded to 16 calls in 2017 - 23.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Herrick included 14 fires - nine structure fires, one vehicle fire and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $35,000 in fire loss - or about $2,500 per fire.

The department also received two false calls, including one malicious call and one other false calls.

The Herrick Fire Department had an annual budget of $23,979 in 2017.
