Oakland Fire Protection District responded to seven calls in 2017 - 40 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Oakland included five fires - three structure fires, one vehicle fire and one other fire.

In all, the department saw $22,500 in fire loss - or about $4,500 per fire.

The department also received two false calls.

The Oakland Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $331,600 in 2017.
