Village of Strasburg Board met March 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

President Ron Thomas called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with all reciting the “Pledge of Allegiance”.

In attendance were President Ron Thomas, Trustees Robert Anderson, Jack Clark, Cinda Held, Alice Jeisy,Anita Renshaw and Chuck Wade, Village Clerk Linda Oakley, Village Fiscal Clerk Lisa Rincker, Attorney Dustin Probst,Joe Oakley, and Gary Kull.

Motion by Trustee Held to approve the financial report, expenditures, transfer of funds, and the minutes of theFebruary 19, 2018 Board Meeting was seconded by Trustee Wade. Motion voted on and carried by voice vote.

Clerk/Treasurer Report – Presented the budget information with current receipts and expenditures. Clerk Oakleyreminded the members of the Board that within the next 2 months we would be working on a new budget, so they need tobe looking at the various receipts and expenditures to make an informative decision on a new budget as the water incomewill cease to exist after December 2018.

Water & Sewer Report – Included in the packet was information from the Pre-Construction Conference for Phase

2 of the Watermain Replacement Project. Trustee Wade noted that Matt Figgins had be moved the electrical panel to thetop of the lift station at 1st and Spruce, and had changed the power at Kull Lift Station and York Acres Lift Station. TheVillage had repaired 3 manholes.

Streets & Alleys – Trustee Wade noted rock had been added along the sides of several roads in the Village. Ameeting was held with a representative from IDOT. IDOT will be cleaning out the ditches along Route 32 with work tobegin in July. Ditches have not been cleaned out for over 20 years.

Economic & Community Development – Mr. Kull will submit information for the Village to participate in theBusiness Outreach Center of the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce. Discussion was held regarding applying for

a Lumpkin Grant for either the walking path or tennis court at the park

Finance Committee – No Report.

Building & Business Expansion; Permits – No Report.

York Acres – The Village will be mowing the empty lots.

Community Center / Park – Discussion was held regarding the electrical bills at the park, ball diamond andbasketball court. The Village may approach the Lions Club to help with the payment of these bills. A discussion was heldregarding new playground equipment.

Attorney’s Report – Mr. Probst noted that the Trestle has been sold to Alex Aizhong Fu of Rochester MN. Anuisance letter will be sent to the new owner.

Business –

Motion by Trustee Wade to approve a contract with Tom Helm for mosquito spraying at the same price as lastyear was seconded by Trustee Renshaw. Motion voted on and carried by voice vote.

Motion by Trustee Wade to put up for bids the old tip trailer to sell as is was seconded by Trustee Anderson.

Motion voted on and carried by voice vote.

Motion by Trustee Held to adjourn the meeting was seconded by Trustee Anderson. Meeting was adjourned at7:40 PM.
