Marshall Community Unit School District C-2 Board of Education met April 30.

The Board of Education met in special session on Monday, April 30, 2018, with the following members present: Mr. Crews, Mr. Littlejohn, Mrs. Hendrix, and Mr. Macke. Superintendent Ross, Principal Ritchey, and Assistant Principal Manuel were also present.
Mr. Macke called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. He then led the Pledge of Allegiance.
There was no public comment.
Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Mr. Crews, to go into closed session for the purposes listed under 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1)(Personnel). On roll call the vote was as follows: Mr. Crews, aye; Mr. Littlejohn, aye; Mrs. Hendrix, aye; and Mr. Macke, aye.
The Board went into closed session three at 7:02 p.m. Mr. Gard joined at 7:03 p.m. Mr. Cook joined at 7:05 p.m. Mrs. Rayhel joined at 7:06 p.m.
Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Mr. Littlejohn, to return to open session. All present voted aye. The Board returned to open session at 7:39 p.m.
Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Mr. Cook, to accept the resignation of Meghan Arthur as Head Softball Coach effective immediately. All present voted aye.
Mr. Macke offered a motion, seconded by Mr. Littlejohn to adopt a Resolution Referencing Suspension Without Pay of Meghan Arthur. Mr. Macke read for the record,”Meghan Arthur is hereby suspended without pay for a period of 5 and ½ school days, which days shall be served retroactively from mid-day April 24th to the end of the workday Tuesday, May 1st. The Board herby finds and determines that a 5 and ½ day suspension without pay is appropriate
Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Bill Cook, to employ Jared Boyll as an elementary teacher, assistant football coach, and junior varsity basketball coach for the 2018-19 school year.
Mr. Cook offered a motion, seconded by Mrs. Hendrix, to employ Nathan Haines as 8th Grade Boys Basketball Coach for the 2018-19 school year. All present voted aye.
Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Gayle Rayhel, to adjourn. All present voted aye. The Board adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
