Oakland Community Unit School District 5 recently issued the following announcement.
Oakland CUSD #5, along with Charleston CUSD 1 and Mattoon Community Unit School District 2, have partnered with local chiefs of police and the Coles County States Attorneys office to emphasize the seriousness of making a threat against an individual or an entire school.
Whether real or a prank, any threat is taken seriously and can lead to charges as severe as a felony. Please understand the fear caused by making such a threat.
If you hear or know of anyone intending to do such harm, please make sure you let someone know.
