Toledo ranked 506th in state in lottery ticket sales for April 2016

The Village of Toledo had the 506th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of April 2016 -- down 61 spots from its March ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Toledo was $15.94 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the East Central Reporter, Toledo generated $19,463.50 in net sales from its two lottery retailers in April 2016, compared to $24,084 in April 2015.

The Village of Toledo is in Cumberland County, and has a population of 1,221, according to 2010 census data.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in April 2016 was $11,559.16.

Toledo's top lottery retailer is Caseys Gen Store #1671 located at 314 E Main, Toledo, IL 62468.

Caseys Gen Store #1671 generated 63 percent of Toledo's April 2016 lottery ticket sales and 12 percent of Cumberland County's sales that month, which was $104,032.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top three cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Cumberland County in 2015 were Greenup, Neoga and Toledo.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
