Minutes of the Board of Education Regular Meeting December 19, 2016 7:00 p.m.

A regular meeting of the Board of Education of Community Unit School District No. 7 was held on Monday December 19, 2016 in the UJHS Media Center, Tolono. Mr. Koss, President of the Board, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Upon roll call, the following answered:

PRESENT; Mr, Branson, Mrs. Garrett, Mr. Koss, Mr. Oakes, Mr. Rund, Mrs. Wilson ABSENT; Mrs. West

Pledge of Allegiance

It was moved by Mr. Oakes and seconded by Mr. Rund to adopt the agenda for the December 19, 2016, Board of Education Meeting as presented. Voice Vote.

Mrs. West arrived at 7:02 p.m.

It was moved by Mr. Rund and seconded by Mrs. Wilson to approve the Consent Agenda items. Roll Call.

Buildings & Grounds: continued structural upgrades were discussed for HS Curriculum: updates given on Science textbook search Finance: Overview of District bond structure was presented, New Buildings will be paid off with 2019 Levy Policy: Second reading was approved Technology: Overview of district infrastructure was presented

Action Items:

It was moved by Mrs. Garrett and seconded by Mr. Rund to approve the 2" reading of Board Policy Manual Updates as presented. Voice vote.

It was moved by Mrs. Garrett and seconded by Mrs. Wilson to consider and take action on a Resolution abating the taxes heretofore levied for the year 2016 to pay debt service on General Obligation Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2013, of the District. Roll Call.

It was moved by Mrs. Garrett and Seconded by Mr. Rund to consider and take action on a Resolution abating the taxes heretofore levied for the year 2016 to pay debt service on General Obligation Bonds

(Afternate Revenue Source), Series 2014B, of the District. Roll Call.

It was moved by Mr. Oakes and seconded by Mr. Branson to consider and take action on a Resolution abating the taxes heretofore levied for the year 2016 to pay debt service on General Obligation Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2012, of the District, Roll Call.

It was moved by Mrs. Wilson and seconded by Mrs. Garrett to approve the 2016 Tax Levy payable in 2017. Roll Call

It was moved by Mr. Rund and seconded by Mrs. Wilson that the Board move into executive session for the purpose of discussing matters related to evaluation and employment of personnel, student discipline and collective Bargaining. Roll Call.

The Board moved into executive session at 8:09 p.m.

It was moved by Mrs. West and seconded by Mr. Branson to come out of executive session. Roll Call.

The Board moved out of executive session at 8:37 p.m.

It was moved by and seconded by to approve Jessica Flynn as UHS Assistant Cook effective January 3, 2017. Voice vote.
