Tuscola Public Library board meets to go over financials

Members of the Tuscola Public Library board of directors met Tuesday, July 19.

The board oversees all matters at the Tuscola Public Library.

Here are the meeting minutes as provided by the Tuscola Public Library board of directors:

Tuscola Public Library Board Meeting-July 19, 2016

I. Call to Order

II. Board Members Present: Deb Follett, Dorothy Voyles, Jason Braaten, Diane Kauffman, Kim Beachy,

Devin Black and Lori Anderson.

III. Consent Agenda

a. Approval of Minutes-Jason made a motion to approve the minutes. Diane seconded. Motion carried

b. Bills-The Board reviewed the month’s bills in the amount of $4084.96 and Deb a motion to approve them as presented. Jason seconded, motion carried

c. Financial reports-The Board reviewed the Balance Sheet and Budget numbers. With 17% of the fiscal year elapsed, 13% of the budget has been spent.

d. Library deposit and statistics were reviewed

IV. Reports

a. Programs-75 for various story times, 15 for Youth Bingo, 6 for Knitting, 221 for movie, 12 for Travel Club, 183 for Summer Read activities, 4 for Book Discussion. YTD 1608 program participants

b. Devin reported the elevator had been fixed

c. Devin reported further changes in delivery routes

e. Devin reported that he had donated some old shelving to the Sheriff's Dept

f. Teddy bear sleepover video has been posted on YouTube

g. Per capita funds were received in the amount of $3453.41

V. Old Business

a. Devin discussed Summer Read and reported that all materials must be submitted by July 21 to count.

b. Next outdoor movie/block party to be held August 12, more groups are being asked to participate

c. Painting is completed

d. Bathroom maintenance issues were discussed including misuse of facilities

VI. New Business-no new business

VII. Adjournment

Jason made the motion to adjourn, Deb seconded and the motion carried. Next meeting will be Tuesday, August 16th, per our usual practice.
