The Charleston City Council met May 3 to discuss a proclamation recognizing the month of May as Motorcycle Awareness Month in honor of the 30th anniversary of the efforts of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois.
The council also discussed an ordinance allowing sensible rehabilitation within the Tax Increment Financing District for 651 Jackson Ave., 504 Monroe Ave., 618 Jackson Ave., 623 Monroe Ave., 621 Monroe Ave., 619 Monroe Ave., 704 Jackson Ave. and 517 Seventh St.
Furthermore, members reviewed an ordinance authorizing the execution of a redevelopment agreement and sensible rehabilitation within the Tax Increment Financing District for 513 Seventh St. and discussed a resolution appropriating $351,430 in MFT Funds for street maintenance for fiscal year 2016-2017.
