Mattoon council signs federal funding agreement for Marshall Avenue reconstruction

The Mattoon City Council recently approved a federal funding agreement for the reconstruction of Marshall Avenue from Sixth Street to Ninth Street.

The estimated cost of the project is $800,000, with the city requesting $450,000 in federal funds. The remaining  $350,000 will come from the City Motor Fuel Tax Fund.

All members of the council, including the mayor, signed off on the agreement.

The council is composed of Mayor Tim Gover, J. Preston Owen of the Finance Department, Rick Hall from Public Health & Safety, Sandra Graven from Streets & Public Improvement, and Dave Cox from Public Property.
