Coles County Education: 416 multiracial students enrolled in school districts in 2023-24 school year

There were 416 multiracial students enrolled in Coles County school districts in the 2023-24 school year, 2.7% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that multiracial students made up 7.3% of the 5,729 students in the county. They were the second most represented ethnicity.

Among the three districts in Coles County, Mattoon Community Unit School District 2 recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 236 students.
