Other

• Administrator Hoel informed council that after investigation and the service of ground penetrating radar, he has learned that the joint pipeline is actually deeper than we originally thought. The engineers are in the process of plotting the locations versus the IDOT widening plans to see how many of the conflicts may be eliminated. Hoel went on to say the $4000 expenditure for the radar will likely eliminate a few hundred thousand dollars' worth of work and change the proportion of the cost split in our favor.

• Mayor Kleiss announced the pool house and slide renovations are set to begin September

• The master meter station is very close to completion. Startup is scheduled for next week.

• Mayor Kleiss addressed some comments he has seen recently on a local bulletin board. Most of the comments are in reference to the recent demolition of the old church and other properties citizens think should be demolished. Kleiss highlighted what it takes to actually get an abandoned, dilapidated property demolished. Using the old church as an example, Kleiss noted this property was given to the city; however, back taxes were owed. The city paid those taxes as well as the demo costs, making the total investment $145,869.00. Kleiss added this lot will not sell for anywhere near that amount.

The motion to adjourn was made by Slaughter and seconded by Morris. VOTE YEA* Brace, Day, Hoey, Morris, Rund, Slaughter, Waldrop.
