On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in terrorist attacks that had a lasting impact on the United States. The events of that day are remembered each year as a moment that significantly altered the course of American history.

"This day is forever etched into the collective memory of all of us, a day when the world stood still, watching as the unthinkable unfolded. We must never forget," a statement read.

Brad Halbrook, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 and currently represents the state's 107th House District after replacing former state representative Blaine Wilhour.
