City of Marshall City Council met July 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 6:30 P.M., with Mayor John Hasten  presiding. Upon roll call, all council members were present. 

Green made a motion seconded by Smitley to approve the amended minutes of the previous meeting as  written. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. 

Public Comment: LeFever thanked the mayor for the updates he provides and talked about the D.A.R.E  program. Green thanked the linemen for their prompt response and resolve to an electric issue on Aspen  St. Green also shared Journey of Faith Church will have a free swim with entertainment Tuesday, August  12th. Propst thanked the mayor for his dedication and keeping everyone informed. 

There was no new business. 

Green made a motion, seconded by Propst to approve the Collection, Treasurer’s, Building and Police  reports for June 2025. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. 

Green made a motion, seconded by Smitley to approve bid award to Lawrence Gravel for 2025 MFT Oil  and Chip Program in the amount of $90,875.00. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion  carried. 

Smitley made a motion, seconded by King to approve payment to John Deere for Flex Wing Rotary  Cutter in the amount of $19,514.51. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. 

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Smitley to accept the 2024 MFT Compliance Review. Upon roll  call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. 

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Smitley to pay bills in the amount of $409,298.21 from July 11,  2025 and $835,339.16 for July 28, 2025. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. 

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Smitley to adjourn. Upon roll call, all council members voted for.  Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:51pm.
