The Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation will hold its 18th annual SBL Hospice Binga event on September 9 at the Mattoon Eagles Club, located at 1917 Oak Avenue. The event aims to raise funds for an endowment supporting the SBL Willow Breeze Hospice House.
Proceeds from the event help people in East Central and Southern Illinois who need financial assistance for their stay at Willow Breeze. Kim Lockart, SBL Special Events Officer, said, “Willow Breeze has already impacted many families in the region. Proceeds from Hospice Binga will support the endowment and ensure that we can continue to help families who need assistance.”
Tickets for admission are priced at $10 each and include participation in 10 regular Binga games. Raffle tickets are also available for $5 each or three for $10. The raffle prize is a Nintendo Switch 2 Console and Mario Kart World bundle, which features a 7.9-inch LCD touch screen and 256 GB of internal storage. County Office Products, Inc. donated this bundle. The winner will be drawn during the event on September 9; attendance is not required to win.
Online bidding for auction items will begin at 8 am on September 5. Items include activities and handmade goods, which can be viewed both online and at the venue until bidding closes at 5 pm on September 10.
This year’s event recognizes Blake’s Shining Star & the Durdel Family as Partner, along with Title Sponsors Commercial Electric, Cromwell Media, and First Neighbor Bank.
