Marshall Community Unit School District C-2 Board of Education met July 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education met in special session on MONDAY, July 7, 2025, with the following members present: Mr. Crews, Mrs. Hendrix, Mr. Lycan, Mr. Macke, Mr. Maurer, and Mrs. Morecraft, were present. Superintendent Ross and North School Principal Lake were also present.

Mr. Macke called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

During the public comment, no comments were offered.

Mr. Ross and Mrs. Lake recommended two candidates for Elementary Teaching positions for the 2025-26 School Year due to the change in assignment of Michelle Huffington from 4th Grade to Math Interventionalist, and the resignation of Melissa Boyer as 4th Grade Teacher. The recommendations, were Kami Titus, who would come to Marshall with 1 year experience at Hutsonville, and Cate Cunningham, who would come to Marshall with 2 years experience at Chrisman.

Mr. Crews offered a motion, seconded by Mrs. Hendrix, to approve the employment of Kami Titus as an Elementary Teacher for the 2025-26 School Year. On roll call the vote was as follows: Mr. Crews, aye; Mrs. Morecraft, aye; Mr. Lycan, aye; Mr. Maurer, aye; Mrs. Hendrix, aye; and Mr. Macke, aye.

Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Mr. Lycan, to approve the employment of Cate Cunningham as an Elementary Teacher for the 2025-26 School Year. On roll call the vote was as follows: Mr. Crews, aye; Mrs. Morecraft, aye; Mr. Lycan, aye; Mr. Maurer, aye; Mrs. Hendrix, aye; and Mr. Macke, aye.

Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Mr. Maurer, to accept the resignation of Melissa Boyer as Elementary Teacher. On a voice vote, all present voted aye.

Mrs. Hendrix offered a motion, seconded by Mr. Maurer, to adjourn. All present voted aye. The Board adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
