Neoga District Library Board of Trustees met June 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Neoga District Library had a special meeting on June 2, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Those in attendance were Stacy Gresens, Beth Craig, Bill Fritcher, Rebecca Mueller, Barb Titus, Jenny Ballinger, Elaine Edwards, Mary Anne Wilson, and Librarian, Christy Baker.

I. Jenny Ballinger called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

II. Elaine Edwards took her Oath of Office.

III. Everyone looked at a copy of the contract. June 12th is potential closing date. We talked about changes esp. the gutter extending to the parking lot. 14 might be an issue for other party. 16 was discussed. Bid price $10,500 cash. B.F. is concerned since the bid is so high M.W. might not be happy about some of what is added. Give CB or JB permission to accept on board’s behalf was questioned. BC asked questions on what he can come back with.

• Back off of door not parking blocks.

• BF asked about chain link fence in place of concrete blocks on grassy strip.

Christy proposes leaving contract as is. If he counters we will bring up fence.

IV. Authorize signature for property sale

BC motions to accept bid. BF seconds. All yes no opposition.

Christy will call Mel tomorrow morning.

The lawyer will talk with Christy for signing off on titles.

BF motions to authorize signature. SG seconds all yes no opposition

IF we need to make any changes to it Christy can call and let us know what’s going on. Nobody opposed.

V. Public comment- None

Other discussion (FYI)

We are eligible for second round tech grant. Application do June 16 for 12,500. Not guaranteed but it can be used for any tech (security cameras, fax machine, etc.) BC can help with that grant. BF asked about internet. We have a current contract with Frontier that we just signed with. Two more years. Frontier is decent not bad. We could possibly use the grant to increase speed but grant runs out in two years.

Christy brought up Brenda Evans called letting her know that Watchdogs have been called threatening the library board. For clarification nobody called anyone.

VI. BF makes motion to adjourn EE seconds.
