On June 16, 2025, Wilhour criticized Governor J.B. Pritzker for his comments made in Washington D.C., where the governor allegedly stated he was unaware of the financial expenditures on illegal immigrants in Illinois. In response to Pritzker signing a budget that allocates "at least $2.5 BILLION on illegal immigrant," Wilhour questioned the governor's honesty or intelligence by asking "Either he’s a liar or he’s dumb."

The following day, June 17, 2025, Wilhour expressed agreement with criticism directed at Governor Pritzker's administration.
