The CCH Radiology Department has received accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR) for its mammography imaging services. This recognition signifies that the facility meets the ACR's standards for quality and safety in medical imaging and radiation oncology treatment.

According to the ACR, "The facility has met the high standards of the ACR for high standards for quality and safety in medical imaging/radiation oncology treatment." The accreditation ensures that appropriate dose levels are used for both adult and pediatric imaging when necessary. The ACR emphasizes its commitment to ensuring accredited facilities meet national standards set by radiologists and radiation oncologists.

The rigorous review process includes an annual assessment of equipment by a medical imaging and radiation oncology expert to verify proper function, optimal image quality, and appropriate radiation dose usage. Personnel must meet qualification standards to perform procedures and interpret medical images. Additionally, physicians have systems in place to review each other's work to ensure diagnostic accuracy.

ACR Accreditation programs are recognized by both the FDA for mammography and CMS for diagnostic MRI, CT, and nuclear medicine imaging procedures. The ACR conducts site surveys to validate compliance with regulations and safety standards. Furthermore, program-specific educational tools are available to support ongoing quality improvement efforts at accredited sites.
