State Representative Blaine Wilhour, along with fellow State Representatives Brad Halbrook and Adam Niemerg, is organizing a senior fair for local seniors. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17th, from 9 am to 11 am at the National Guard Armory in Effingham.

Rep. Wilhour expressed his efforts to bring back this event after a five-year hiatus due to Covid restrictions. "I have been working to bring this popular event back since the Covid restrictions were imposed five years ago," he stated. He also mentioned the presence of various vendors offering services and programs for seniors in the area.

The fair will provide attendees with guides, literature, and resources from state, county, and local senior service agencies. Rep. Niemerg highlighted that information would be available from state agencies like the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs and activities through the Effingham Library. Health care organizations will also conduct screenings.

General Assembly members will attend to assist constituents with state government concerns. Attendees are encouraged to sign in for a chance to win door prizes, and complimentary refreshments will be served.

Rep. Halbrook emphasized the importance of reconnecting seniors with essential resources: "Representatives Niemerg, Wilhour, and I are pleased to reintroduce this event that provides so many connections to our seniors." He acknowledged the challenges seniors face in accessing these resources independently.

No RSVP or entrance fee is required for attending the fair. For further inquiries, contact Rep. Wilhour at (618) 665-4109, Rep. Niemerg at (217) 813-6036, or Rep. Halbrook at (217) 342-0220.
