State Representative Brad Halbrook from Shelbyville has filed a resolution condemning recent remarks made by Governor JB Pritzker. The comments, delivered at a New Hampshire Democratic Party fundraiser, have been described as inflammatory and divisive.

Resolution HR 292 criticizes the Governor's rhetoric for allegedly advocating violence against President Trump and federal government members. It calls on Governor Pritzker to retract his statements, clarify his intentions, and reaffirm his commitment to civil discourse and adherence to the U.S. Constitution.

Representative Halbrook stated, "The comments made by Governor Pritzker are appalling and damaging." He emphasized the need for state leaders to avoid inciting violence amidst national division. Halbrook urged the Governor to apologize and reassure Illinois residents of his dedication to serving as their governor rather than pursuing presidential ambitions.

Governor Pritzker's controversial remarks included urging Democrats to use "whatever means are necessary" against President Trump and the Republican Party leadership. He also suggested that Republicans should not experience peace and called for mass protests, mobilization, and disruption. According to Halbrook, these statements could further divide Americans.

Halbrook concluded by saying, "Illinoisans deserve better; they deserve a governor who cares more about their state than eyeing a bid for national political status."
