Commercial Electric, a company based in Mattoon, has contributed $5,000 to Friends and Families of Sarah Bush Lincoln Fayette County Hospital. This donation is intended to support the construction of a new medical center on the hospital’s campus in Vandalia. In recognition of this contribution, a plaque will be placed in the new building.
The medical center is a $15 million project comprising a two-story building that covers 42,000 square feet and is expected to be completed by the end of the summer. The first floor will host a range of services, including primary care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, occupational medicine, and Express Care. These services are presently provided in other leased facilities in Vandalia. Healthcare providers such as Richard Funneman, MD; Jeff Jenson, MD; Bruce Braswell, PA-C; and Deidre Langston, FNP, will relocate to this facility, which will be equipped with 24 exam rooms, as well as X-ray and phlebotomy services. The second floor is designed to accommodate specialty clinics and business offices.
“Commercial Electric is such a great community partner of Sarah Bush Lincoln’s, and this gift to Friends & Families shows their commitment to our hospital in Vandalia,” said Amy Card, SBL Health Foundation director and board member of Friends & Families of SBLFCH. “Sarah Bush Lincoln is committed to continuing and growing quality healthcare for residents of Fayette and surrounding counties and we’re excited to open the new Medical Center there.” Friends & Families serves as the primary fundraising entity for the hospital.
