State Representative Adam Niemerg announced that the efforts of numerous Illinois families and residents have temporarily hindered the push to regulate homeschooling and private schooling. In contrast, the initiative to remove Native American mascots from schools is progressing.

"The good news is that the homeschool bill did not run this week. We'll see what the Democrats decide to do in May with that piece of legislation (HB 2827). Right now, they do not have the votes," Niemerg stated.

He continued, "A bad bill, the Native American school mascot bill removing all Native American logos, names, etc. from our schools, did pass and it is now over in the Senate. Hopefully, that does not run over in the Senate. It is going to cost our school districts a lot of money and erase a lot of our heritage and tradition in our local schools here in Illinois. But as usual, just more bad woke policies from the Democrats that are hurting working class families and driving up the cost of living in the State of Illinois."
