On April 8, 2025, Niemerg criticized a proposed plant associated with Governor J.B. Pritzker's administration, highlighting its funding through taxpayer dollars and its alleged connections to China. He commented, "HUGE blow to @GovPritzker CCP plant! Folks, this plant is paid by YOUR tax dollars! With direct ties to CHINA…….time we put Illinois first!"
