State Representative Brad Halbrook of Shelbyville has publicly congratulated the recipients of the Office of the State Fire Marshal’s Small Equipment Grant in the 107th District. The grant enables fire departments, protection districts, and non-profit ambulance services to acquire necessary small tools and equipment for operations.

In this district, the beneficiaries of the grant include Mt. Zion Fire Protection District, Witt Volunteer Fire Department, Effingham Fire Department, and Oconee Fire Department.

Rep. Halbrook commented on the grant's importance, stating, “This grant opportunity is a great way to fill in the funding gaps that many fire departments, protection districts, and ambulance services face.” He emphasized the critical need for equipment to ensure these service providers can operate effectively and respond to emergencies, particularly in smaller communities lacking alternative options. Halbrook expressed satisfaction in seeing numerous rural districts among the 180 recipients.
