The Village of Poplar Grove will have a new Village President following the recent election on April 1, 2025. Krista Richardson triumphed over the incumbent, Owen Costanza, in the contest.
This election marks the fourth defeat for Costanza, having lost previously as precinct committeeman and now twice for village president. He will have to wait at least another four years to attempt to hold the office again.
Those familiar with Costanza may recall past controversies. He previously took legal action against residents for defamation following an election, a case he not only lost but also lost upon appeal. Despite this, he admitted to the actions that were the subject of the lawsuit.
