Central City Hospital has named Kamy Vail as their Employee of the Month for April. In a nomination written by Pamela Mix-Bissey, a Customer Service Representative in the HIM Department, Vail was recognized for her quick and effective handling of a patient's needs.
The incident involved a patient who needed help with a new diabetic pod. When the Diabetic Educator was unavailable, Vail took the initiative to address the issue personally. Mix-Bissey recounted that Vail promptly contacted the patient, who had just left, and invited her back to the hospital to provide the necessary assistance.
“After taking her name and number, I told her I would have the Diabetic Educator reach out to her as soon as she was back," Mix-Bissey wrote. "The patient wasn’t even gone five minutes and Kamy came in, I told her what was going on and she called the lady, right then and there... didn’t even bat an eye."
Kamy Vail’s actions demonstrate dedication and compassion towards patients, hospital, and her coworkers. Mix-Bissey praised the entire HIM office for their commitment to patient care, stating, “These ladies in this HIM office are amazing, all of them, they truly care about the patients, hospital, and their co-workers. I’m very thankful for them and the care they give.”
