This year, Democrats have introduced legislation known as HB 2827. The bill aims to impose reporting, curricular, and administrative requirements on homeschooling families. Critics argue that these mandates are intrusive.

Representative Halbrook has voiced opposition to the proposed legislation. He stated, "We believe that parents know what’s best for their children and we stand against these intrusive mandates."

Halbrook is encouraging those who share his viewpoint to sign a petition opposing HB 2827.
