The Eastern Illinois University (EIU) women's basketball team has contributed $10,809 to the SBL Health Foundation. This donation is aimed at supporting patients receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center.

Funds were raised through the team's annual CARE game, an event dedicated to honoring cancer fighters within the community and raising money for those battling cancer. Since 2019, this initiative has enabled the EIU women's basketball team to donate over $85,000 to SBL through their CARE games.

Alongside the monetary contribution, a signed jersey from former player Morgan Litwiller was also donated by the team.

"The EIU women’s basketball team has been a wonderful supporter of the SBL Regional Cancer Center," said Kim Lockart, SBL Special Events Officer. "They continue to make an impact on the community, and we are grateful for the team’s continued support."

For additional information about donating to the SBL Regional Cancer Center, interested parties can contact the SBL Health Foundation at 217-258-2511.
