The Human Bean in Effingham has contributed $1,000 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation. This donation is intended to aid individuals receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center.

Each year, The Human Bean locations nationwide donate all their proceeds from one day in October as part of the "Coffee for a Cure" fundraiser. Owner Nate Zimmer decided to allocate the business’s net proceeds to support those receiving treatment at the SBL Regional Cancer Center who face financial challenges related to their care. “Many of our customers and surrounding community members receive treatment at SBL, so we wanted to give back to support them,” said Nate Zimmer.
