4. Board President’s Comments
Chris related that on 1/5/2025, a patron exhibited extreme, threatening behaviour. CPD was called; patron removed. Patron returned several days later with similar behaviour. Chris removed patron, who is now banned from premises for a year. Closing and security procedures may be revisited soon to ensure safety of patrons and employees.
Automated handicapped accessible door at main entrance does not work. Discussion ensued about various elements that need fixing, cost, etc. A sign has been posted to notify patrons.

6. Discussion Items
A. City Retreat Presentation
Chris shared with us the PowerPoint presentation he used at the Dec. 2024 2-day City Retreat. It contained photos, specific details, numbers, costs, etc. about the following categories: 1) Facility Updates 2) Services and 3) Moving Forward in 2025. The annual retreat offers Chris a chance to reflect on the previous year, and his presentation gives many specifics as to how CCPL is spending money and time.
B. Literature & Libations 2025
Brandalynn Curry arranged for three sponsors to donate $25,000!
We are finalizing food contract with Warren James Winery.
The Moondogs will perform, as will the EIU Jazz Trio.
Liquor will probably be provided by Gateway Liquor, although not finalized yet.
Discussion ensued about activities for Lit. & Libations: do we need them/any? Which have been successful in past? The Board agrees that 1-3 activities is desirable /beneficial.
