Thornton Township Supervisor Tiffany Henyard has once again been involved in actions considered to be unlawful electioneering. This time, she streamed a live video from her office at Thornton Township, urging viewers to vote for her as the Mayor of Dolton and for other candidates in local races.

This is not an isolated incident. Henyard has previously engaged in similar activities, including using township BINGO games and food giveaways for campaign purposes, utilizing the township's Facebook page for electioneering, collaborating with Cook County Judge Renee Jackson at a township event, and producing an electioneering video from inside the Mayor’s office. Additionally, she often encourages voting during public meetings she chairs.

Residents are encouraged to file complaints with the Thornton Township Ethics Commission or Officer and demand a public hearing on these actions. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act outlines "prohibited political activities" that local governments must adhere to, including preventing the use of public offices for campaigning purposes.
