US Dominion Inc. has been engaged in defamation lawsuits since January 2021, targeting multiple defendants. Recently, the court docket included a transcript from a hearing that addressed discovery issues and scheduling concerns.

As of November 8, 2024, a schedule has been established for the ongoing legal proceedings, although no trial date is set yet. It seems unlikely that the trial will occur in 2025. Defendants in these cases include Michael J. Lindell, My Pillow Inc., Sydney Powell, and Rudolph Giuliani, among others who have attracted public interest.

The court dismissed all counterclaims made by Defendant Michael Lindell against Smartmatic Third-Party Defendants. Smartmatic filed a motion seeking $546,156 in sanctions, representing about 82.9% of its legal fees related to defending against the counterclaims and filing for sanctions.

The court granted sanctions totaling $56,369: “Adding up the time entries attributed to defending against that claim, the Court orders Lindell to pay $56,369 to Smartmatic." However, "pending final judgment and a potential appeal as to Lindell’s counterclaims," this amount is to be held in escrow by Smartmatic’s counsel under an agreed escrow arrangement.

With no trial date confirmed, it remains uncertain if these proceedings will extend beyond 2026. Further updates will follow as new developments arise.
