The Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation is set to host its annual Cheers! event on March 1 at a new venue. The gathering aims to raise funds for the SBL Volunteer Guild scholarship program.

Scheduled to begin at 6 pm, the event will take place at The Foxmore in Shelbyville. Attendees can enjoy a cocktail party, live music by the band 8South, a wine and whiskey tasting, and a poker tournament.

General admission tickets are priced at $85 each. Participation in the Hold 'em style poker tournament requires a $100 buy-in, which includes entry to Cheers! The tournament is slated to start at 7 pm on the upper floor of The Foxmore.

The grand prize for the poker tournament is four Cardinals Baseball tickets valued at $1,500, donated by Roy Schmidt Honda of Effingham. Additional runner-up prizes and special bounty prizes will be given for eliminating Nate Brettin and Myles Batson, winners of the 2023 and 2024 tournaments respectively.

A raffle will also be held with two major prizes: 14k yellow gold confetti diamond earrings valued at $1,999 from Towne Square Jewelers or a two-night stay at the Graduate Hotel in Nashville, TN.

Since its inception in 1979, the Volunteer Guild has awarded nearly $880,000 in scholarships across SBL’s ten-county service area to students pursuing education in medically-related fields.

“Cheers! is a fantastic way to fund scholarships for local students who need financial assistance for their college education,” stated Kim Lockart, SBL Special Events Officer. “We are grateful to The Foxmore for hosting the event and are excited to offer attendees a fun-filled evening.”

For ticket purchases or donations, interested parties can contact the Foundation at 217-258-2511 or visit https://www.sarahbush.org/cheers/.
