FOIA Request to Shelby County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at East Central Reporter have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We are seeking records in electronic format that list the candidates running for the 2025 Consolidated Elections.
The requested records should include specific fields such as the candidate's name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the office they are running for.
We believe access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
