FOIA Request to Jasper County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.
We at East Central Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We are seeking records in electronic format that list the candidates running for the 2025 Consolidated Elections.
The requested records should include the following fields: Candidate Name, Candidate filled date, and The office that they are running for. As we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We look forward to receiving this information from the Jasper County Clerk's office soon so that we can continue our work in keeping the public informed about their local government affairs.
