FOIA Request to Lawrence County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.
We at East Central Reporter, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We are seeking information in electronic format about the candidates running for the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections.
Specifically, we have requested a list of candidates with details such as their names, the dates they filed their candidacy, and the offices they are running for. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
