Clark County taxpayers ranked 63rd in total sales taxes paid per county in October 2024, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Clark County residents paid $205,756 in sales taxes during October 2024.

Clark County ranked 66th in the Prairie State the month before, with $209,681 spent in sales taxes.

The Special County Retailers Occupation Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Clark County residents in October 2024.

As of 2021, Illinois was the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes were 39.83% higher than the national average.
