The request was made on January 7, 2025, by us at East Central Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
In line with our commitment to transparency and accountability, we requested specific details about all arrests made within the specified period. The information sought includes the name of the arrestee, date of arrest, gender, race, date of birth, and the crime committed.
As journalists at East Central Reporter, we believe access to public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We have requested a fee waiver for this information due to our role as media professionals disseminating vital information to the public.
We are currently awaiting a response from the Edgar County Sheriff's Office regarding this request.
