Illinois House honors St. Anthony's baseball team for state championship victory

The Illinois House took a moment during their Fall Veto Session to honor the St. Anthony High School boys baseball team for their achievement in winning the IHSA Class 2A State Championship. Representative Halbrook read House Resolution 898, which was passed to recognize the team's accomplishments, as players and coaches observed from the House Gallery.

"When these determined young men came up short in the 2023 super sectional their mantra became 'job not finished'. After this year's phenomenal championship season, they can change that to 'job finished!'" Rep. Halbrook said.

The St. Anthony Bulldogs secured the championship title by defeating Maroa-Forsyth. They achieved seven consecutive victories in the 2024 post-season and concluded their season with an overall record of 27-5-1. Two players from the team were named to the all-state team.

"Congratulations Bulldogs on an amazing 2024 season!" Rep. Halbrook concluded.
