A special meeting is scheduled in Dolton, Illinois, to address a vacancy in the Thornton Township Board. Tiffany Henyard, who has been at the center of recent developments involving the Village of Dolton and Thornton Township, may attempt to appoint an ally to fill this vacancy. The process requires a quorum of at least three trustees with three affirmative votes. If there is a tie in a quorum of four, the township clerk will break it.

Trustees opposing Henyard could prevent any appointment by ensuring only one attends the meeting. This strategy would allow other agenda items, such as bill payments, to proceed while blocking her appointment efforts.

The special meeting is set for November 25, 2024, at 5 p.m., where several issues including insurance payments and board appointments are on the agenda.

Henyard's influence over both boards appears diminished currently. She has reportedly engaged in electioneering activities at township events and utilized an unregistered business to share information with the public. This business does not appear in Illinois' Secretary of State database under registered businesses.

With elections approaching in spring 2025, Henyard faces potential challenges in retaining her positions within both boards.
