The Shelby County Court has granted a motion by watchdogs to intervene in the Boehm v. Shelby County case. The intervention is for the specific purpose of unsealing the sole bid related to county farmland.

Judge Kibler decided to keep the name and contact information of the bidder sealed, while releasing other parts of the bid. The watchdog group maintains that the entire bid should be considered a public record under the Freedom of Information Act, arguing that it remains a public document regardless of whether it is opened publicly.

The group plans to publish a redacted version of the bid once it is available.
