A petition and motion to intervene have been filed in the Boehm v. Shelby County case, which has delayed the opening and awarding of a bid for county-owned farmland. The filing was made by watchdogs seeking transparency in the process.

The court's docket reveals that the judge opened the bid with the presence of several officials, including the Shelby County Sheriff and Shelbyville Police Chief, though the latter's involvement remains unclear. Following this, it was ordered that the bid be distributed to attorneys but prohibited further sharing of bidder information.

The watchdogs' petition requests that the court unseal and release the full bid details to ensure public access to this information. They argue that public knowledge of such proceedings is essential and will not impact ongoing legal matters.

This action follows previous successful interventions by these groups in similar cases across White County, Coles County, and DuPage County, where they advocated for public transparency.

The motion is expected to be presented during a court status call scheduled for today.
