FOIA Request to City of Lawrenceville Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
In a recent move to promote transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at East Central Reporter have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Lawrenceville. The request, dated October 30, 2024, seeks comprehensive information about residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023 till the present date.
The specific details requested include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address where the construction is taking place or has taken place, and the contractor's name. This data is sought for all new as well as currently active building permits.
We believe that access to these public records is crucial for our role in disseminating accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. It enables us to hold public institutions accountable and provide much-needed transparency to the public.
