V. Items for Discussion

River Run | Saturday, October 5, 2024

The scenic fall fun run will take place on Saturday, October 5. A new kids’ dash component has been added to the event to encourage runners of all ages to come enjoy this event. Registration is live for all races.

Current registration is 206, which is comprised of 10 kids for the kid’s dash (goal 30), 147 for the 5K (goal 240), and 47 for the 10K (goal 80). Goals listed were based on the number of medals ordered for each race. Last year we had 272 runners, so we are 66 runners shy of 2023 figures - our largest year to date.

Sponsorship has exceeded last year. This year’s race is at $12,800, thanks to our first ever presenting sponsor, Edward Rose and Sons.

The 2024 shirts have arrived. In addition, neon vests have been ordered and will be utilized for volunteers to ensure safety and clear notice to participants of their role in the event. we are still waiting for ribbons/medals to arrive.

We are still in need of volunteers for the race, please contact Rosie Boeing if you are interested in volunteering or have questions.

VI. New Business

Montgomery Fest Final Report

A draft report was distributed to the Board for proofing and review as financial reports from the fest are not audited and finalized yet. The goal is that a final report will be created to provide a written report of fest figures, survey results, and suggestions for future fest planning.

This year expenditures increased in the entertainment, general supply, and stage line items for the fest. Additionally, volunteer and VIP food tickets saw a large increase as well. For revenues, both sponsorship and food vendor fees (61%) increased in 2024 over previous years.

The committee discussed several potential ideas for improvements at the 2025 fest which included: an enhanced Family Fest on River Street, VIP event on Friday night, and Volunteer rest/food area within Village Hall.

Staff will continue working on finalizing figures and information within the report and hopes to finalize it in the next 30 days, so they are ready for 2025 fest planning to begin before the end of the year.

American English | October 3

President Brolley asked for an update on the American English concert on October 3.

Staff stated that the band (American English) will play from 6:30-8:30P at the park. No street closures will take place. Staff have secured two food trucks to be onsite (Toasty Cheese and Grumpy Gaucho). There will be port-a-potties brought in and placed on the east side of the park like the location they are located for Montgomery Fest. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to the event as limited picnic tables are available in the park. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, but no alcohol is to be allowed in the park.
