Edgar County Sheriff's Deputy Toby Krabel resigned from his position a day after being arrested in Vigo County, Indiana. The arrest was for allegedly "Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person," with probable cause found on August 7, 2024. It is believed that Krabel refused any breathalyzer or other tests to determine suspected intoxication, leading to the immediate suspension of his driving privileges.

On September 30, 2024, Krabel entered a guilty plea to the Class C Misdemeanor charge of "Reckless Driving drive at an unreasonably high or low speed so to endanger safety." Consequently, the Operating While Intoxicated charge was dismissed with prejudice.

Before joining the Edgar County Sheriff's Department, Krabel served as the Chief of Police in Chrisman, Illinois.

Mugshot photo and other charging information can be found (here).
