Kyley Willison, a former trustee of the Oakland Fire Protection District, has pleaded guilty to theft charges. Willison was charged alongside his father with multiple felony crimes related to alleged theft and official misconduct. Both were trustees for the district, but no charges were filed against Kyley's wife, who also served on the board during the period of the alleged offenses.

The charges stem from an investigation that began nearly two years ago after a request for records led to the resignation of all three family members from their positions on the board. On September 16, 2024, Kyley Willison entered a voluntary open guilty plea to Count 1, a Class 1 felony for theft between $100,000 and $500,000. The remaining ten felony charges will be dismissed at sentencing.

Court documents indicate that Willison was admonished and entered an open guilty plea to Count I. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation (PSI) and scheduled a sentencing hearing for December 11, 2024. The other counts will be dismissed at that time.

Kyley's father, Jerry Willison, is scheduled for a status hearing on October 21, 2024, regarding his multiple felony counts.
