Village of Noble Village Board met Aug. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Present: Major Kessler, Carol O’Dell, Janet Pflaum and Gary Ulm

Guests: Kenny Michels and Bill Manuel

The meeting was called to order at 5:50 pm.

Mr. Michels has requested additional residential water service on his property and would like the meter placed approximately 360 ft from the current service line. A map of his property was presented.

Bill Manual, VON Water Superintendent, expressed his concerns on placing the meter away from the service line. The village is responsible for maintenance from the main line to the meter if issues may arise.

Mr. Michels is willing to do all the maintenance for the line as long as a member of his family resides on the property.

After hearing both Mr. Michels’ and Mr. Manuel’s side the committee discussed the options and will make the following recommendation to the rest of the Board at the next scheduled meeting on August 26 -

1. Place the water meter next to the driveway of the modular as requested by Mr. Michels with a shut-off valve to the main meter WITH a signed agreement at Mr. Michels’ expense, drawn up by a lawyer of his choosing, negating the village’s responsibility for any issues that may arise.

2. Placing the water meter at the main point located on Mr. Michels’ property.

3. Installing a 4-inch service line on Mr. Michels’ property so any resident in the neighboring area could tap on to that particular line. Mr. Michels would be willing to contact EJ Water inquiring about the cost.

The committee also made it clear that if such a request would come up again, each scenario would be on a case-by-case basis

The meeting was adjourned at 6:23 pm.
