State Representative Adam Niemerg (IL) | Representative Adam M. Niemerg (R) 102nd District
The 2nd Annual Fishing Derby at Sam Parr Lake, organized by Niemerg, concluded successfully on July 20, 2024. Derik was recognized for catching the largest fish of the event, a 17-inch Channel Catfish. Despite it being his only catch of the morning, it earned him notable recognition. Connor was acknowledged for catching the most fish during the event, with a total of 13.
The event featured support from members of the Eagle Anglers Bass Team from Newton Community High School. These team members assisted in teaching children how to bait hooks, cast lines, and reel in fish. Additionally, thanks were extended to Sam Parr's on-site staff members Tim and Jordan and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources team for providing information, materials, and rulers used to measure the catches.
